Kathy Nordgren, Licensed Acupuncturist offers acupuncture in the Lincoln Park and West Seattle neighborhood in a warm and soothing atmosphere. She provides a safe and calm environment with that "cared for feeling" for patients to deeply relax and enjoy their sessions.
She offers physical, emotional and spiritual healing with acupuncture, Tuning Forks, Tibetan Healing Bowls, Tuina/Chinese Massage, Cupping and Moxibustion. She also uses Qi Gong to help heal and teach her patients instructing them in specific Qi Gong and Yoga exercises to further facilitate their healing. Her work also includes Jungian dream work which integrates dreams into the body with acupuncture.
Numerous research studies from the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia have shown positive results from acupuncture and herbal medicine. The National Institutes of Health recognizes the benefit of acupuncture for a variety of conditions and the World Health Organization has endorsed its use for treating over two hundred disorders.
"Your treatment was very helpful and gave me miraculous, immediate congestion relief . . . I enjoyed your calmness and the warm soothing atmosphere."
How Acupuncture Works
According to Chinese medical philosophy, energy or "Qi" circulates throughout the body along specific pathways or meridians. Along these pathways there are specific points which allow access to various body organs and systems. Pain and illness is caused by an imbalance or blockage of the pathways.
"There is evidence that acupuncture influences the production of and distribution of a great many neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, and that this in turn alters the perception of pain."
-- David Eisenberg, M.D., Clinical Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School
"I have no more hip pain since I came to see Kathy."
